Business minister Michael Fallon told the conference that the private-public partnership organisations were here to stay and that New Anglia – which covers Norfolk and Suffolk was well up in his private league table.

Earlier today, the Eastern Daily Press and East Anglian Daily Times launched its Top 100 companies in Norfolk and Suffolk which details exactly how our leading businesses are performing.

Mr Fallon said: “I do a private league table and New Anglia is pretty well up in that. We are not going back to Regional Development Agencies, we have the Leps. This is one of the great growth regions of our country. It should be one of the motors of our economy.”

The conference focused on the theme of innovation and businesses heard from Doug Field and Kevin Warden from the East of England Co-operative Society, Paul Evans, chief executive and founder of Shareband Broadband technology company and Jerry Walker from Intelligent Fingerprinting.

For more from the conference see tomorrow’s EDP and East Anglian Daily Times.
