Burglar steals cash from man in his 90s after fake offer to sell stamps

A burglar tricked his way into the home of a man in his 90s before stealing cash from him.

Police said the distraction burglar targeted the pensioner at his home on Pelham Road, Norwich, at about 4.05pm yesterday, Monday, December 16.

He offered postage stamps for sale, and got into the property by asking for a glass of water.

The offender is described as white, 5’ 6” tall, thin, clean shaven and aged between 20 and 30 years old. He had short light brown hair that was slightly brushed to one side and was wearing a black coat or jumper.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone matching this description acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident.
