A group of local dancers are set to revive a selection of film and musical favourites in a vibrant new show at the Norwich Theatre Royal this weekend.
The Broadland School of Dance will perform renditions from classic musicals such as Fame and Chicago to modern pieces from films such as Shrek and Slumdog Millionaire.
Based in Wroxham, Aylsham and Old Catton, the dance school’s show will feature a cast of 180 dancers aged from three years old to adults.
They will be performing a variety of energetic dance styles, including ballet, modern and tap.
Principal, Katy Carroll, who has appeared and danced in hit shows such as stage productions of Chicago and Saturday Night Fever, said: “The show is the end result of months of hard work and practice from everyone involved.
“We’re hoping to put on a performance that showcases just how talented and committed all our dancers are.
“Showtime has such a wide variety of dances, outfits and takes inspiration from such a large number of musical hits that there really is something for everyone.
“All our dancers are hugely excited about getting on stage and putting on a thrilling spectacle.”
The troupe will take Showtime to the stage on Sunday at 2.30pm and 7pm. Tickets range from £5.50 to £12.50, with a discounts for friends of the theatre.
