British Transport Police said officers were called to Stratford International station at 4.16pm.

It followed reports of a “distressed man” on the 3pm train from Norwich to London Liverpool Street.

A spokesman said: “A man was carrying a shaving razor, but no allegations were made against him. The man, who was travelling with a valid ticket, was spoken to by officers.”

Rail operator Greater Anglia confirmed police had been called following reports of a man acting suspiciously.

  • Andre, the first letter in your second sentence was not a capital, it was a lower-case 'a'. Appalling, really appalling. Must do better if you are going to throw stones in this glass-house!

  • Perhaps the passenger knew about the delays on this route and decided to go prepared for a night out.

  • Guide dogs for the blind. It's cruel really, isn't it? Getting a dog to lead a man round all day. Not fair on either of them

  • Fantastic! an image which bears no relation to the story and also a sentence that does not make sense: "British Transport Police said officers were to Stratford International" Were they called to? Flown to? sent to? bungee-jumped into?
