Muscle men and women flexed their physique in front of a Great Yarmouth crowd in a bid to scoop some silverware in a regional competition.
Scores of super toned competitors got oiled up for the annual Anglian Bodybuilding Championships, which drew spectators and supporters from across the region and further afield to the Atlantis Arena.
Over a course of 12 classes, 50 competitors posed and pointed on stage to show off their rippling form to the judging panel, which included a former Mr Universe and other seasoned champs.
Among those taking to the stage was 65-year-old grandad-of-thirteen Roland Burton, who was competing in the Master 50s category in his first ever bodybuilding contest.
The retired car dealer from Wisbech said: 'I came last year and I said to my wife 'I'd like to have a go at that'. I'm looking forward to it, I'm not bothered about a trophy, just a chance to take part.'
Seasoned competitor Robert Cox competed in the Open over 5' 8' category and was aiming to bring back a trophy.
The 31-year-old from Norwich said: 'I think the competition for the competitor it's the buzz. All the work you have done, it's your chance to show it off.
'And for the spectators, for a lot of them it's watching people they know to come and support them. And for other people they just like to see the physique, it's a competition at the end of the day.'
Classes, including junior and bikini, saw competitors perform individual routines, standard poses as part of a group and then a freestyle showdown in a bid to take the top title.
New for this year was the Mr Physique class, the winner of which scooped £500, and cash prizes were also handed to Miss Bikini and Mr East Anglia.
For the second year the competition, held on Sunday, was organised by Top Body gym in Gorleston and manager Scott Graysmark said he was pleased with the turn out, which had brought people from far and wide
He said: 'It's a nice friendly atmosphere and we have it at this time of the month so the weather's quite nice, and people can make a bit of a weekend of it.'
