Walkers were met with a unusual sight as they strolled along Great Yarmouth beach - after a bear was spotted soaking up the sun.

But visitors did not need to be afraid as the animal enjoying the rays was not an out-of-place grizzly, but a much more cuddly variety of bear.

The plush toy was seated with umbrella in place and refreshments to hand as he gazed out at the rolling waves.

Simon Crutchley spotted the furry visitor and sent us this picture of him.

He said: “I was trudging over the North Denes beach area under the clouds and blazing sun, where I came across a bear called Ted in his new handmade deckchair.

“On a lace tablecloth there was a settling pint to paw, and coffee in the pot and I noticed his reading matter on his table was Fly Fishing by J R Hartley.

“It was a serene moment in a world of turmoil, seeing the wind blowing the seaweed onto the legs of his chair and crashing waves on the shingle and him lying back soaking up the sun.”
