The town of Aylsham is getting ready to set out its stall as a place to shop, rock and have family fun this weekend.

A Destination Aylsham event starts on Friday with a country market in the town hall, as well as the weekly market outside.

On Saturday the town also hosts its regular farmers’ market, before six bands take to the stage at the Recreation Ground for Aylsham Rocks.

Atomic, Dr Clyde, Lithium, On the Side, Stranger Culture and The Joe Ringer Band provide a mix of styles including indie, rock, pop, and reggae. Gates open at 4pm, and there is a bar.

Tickets are available at Barnwell’s or Tesco in Aylsham or, on line at for an early bird price of £6 or £7.50 on the night. Accompanied children under 12 years of age go free.

Sunday is Aylsham Fun Day, also at the “rec” from 11am onwards, following a 10.45am open air community church service.

Entry is free at the day which includes a children’s petting zoo, stalls and zorb rides.

The second Aylsham 10k run and will start at noon from the rec. See
