A handbag was stolen from a home in Norwich after a burglar broke in while the householder was asleep.

Detectives are appealing for information following the burglary in Brakendon Close, which happened between 9pm on Thursday and 9.15am on Friday.

The offender broke in through an unlocked kitchen window.

A black leather handbag containing cards, a cheque book, glasses and cosmetics was stolen from the living room while the victim was asleep.

Anyone who witnessed people acting suspiciously in the area are urged to contact Det Con Andy Tomlinson at Norwich CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
