Coaches and members of a city fitness club are taking on a mountain this weekend in aid of ill children.
This Sunday, with £18,700 already under their belt since 2023, Body Transform Fitness (BTF) aspires to hit its £20,000 fundraising target early as they take on Snowdon in Wales.
More than 50 members, including three BTF coaches, will take on the Llanberis Path, using skills developed in a series of training hikes and walks.
The team has been divided into three groups after staff undertook a practice climb to iron out route complications and plan stops.
The money will go to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, an organisation that has been consistently supported by the fitness group, based at the Vulcan Road Industrial Estate.
BTF has accumulated more than £6,000 through members' efforts directed at this climbing event alone.
They had initially intended to hit their £20,000 target for Each by the end of the year.
One of the BTF coaches, Dean Rudling, said: “We have members of all different shapes, ages and sizes climbing the mountain and our members have been putting in a load of training hikes and walks ahead of the event itself.”
