Hundreds of people are gearing up for a demanding Lake District trek to raise funds for army veterans.
The challenging expedition is supporting the Walking with the Wounded charity, which aids service personnel dealing with issues like mental health, unemployment and homelessness.
Among the participants are 35 employees from Norwich's Gasway and its parent company, Flagship Group.
Gasway’s operations head, Andy Merrill, said: "There are always armed forces teams involved from the Gurkhas, RAF regiments and others, and they like it to be tough.
“But if the weather is favourable the views are spectacular and the sense of achievement is fantastic.
"And there’s nothing more motivating than seeing a wounded veteran walk past you.”
The Cumbrian Challenge, on Saturday, involves hiking one of three possible routes and starts at Grasmere, central to the Lake District National Park.
Mr Merrill added: "Life isn’t always easy when you leave the armed forces.
“Walking with the Wounded provides early intervention programmes, speeds up access to therapy and helps to change the lives of veterans and their families.”
