Stargazers were left spellbound by the stunning sights of the Northern Lights – but one pair in Norwich were not lucky enough to capture the spectacle.
Karim Akhtar and Solomon Laurent were walking home from a night out in the city on Friday when they spotted purple illuminations in the sky.
But in a video viewed more than six million times on TikTok, the pair soon discovered that the glow in the sky was not from where they thought.

In the video, the pair gasp “oh my god” as they witness the lights in the night sky.
The sudden realisation then occurred as they arrived at the entrance of the Premier Inn hotel in Duke Street.
"We thought Premier Inn was the Northern Lights,” they said. "We've been catfished. How have we been catfished? We thought it was the northern lights. It's a f*****g building."
A frenzy began throughout the country when people rushed to capture a photo of the famous spectacle over the weekend.
Also known as aurora borealis, the bands of pink and green light were seen across the UK and in parts of Europe after an “extreme” geomagnetic storm caused them to be more visible, according to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The G5 geomagnetic storm is considered extreme and the strongest level of solar storm.
A spokesman for Premier Inn said: "There’s no need to search the skies, Premier Inn is a beacon of light and can bring the aurora glow directly to your room, without needing a camera to see it.
"Rest easy under the enchanting purple glow of our light up headboards, knowing that you can experience this wonder every night of the year from the luxury of one of our comfy beds."
