A city site that has been vacant for five years will finally be filled as a chain opens one of its largest UK stores. 

Poundland is opening its huge new shop in St Stephens Street on Saturday.

The chain, which has more than 800 stores across the UK and Ireland, relocated from a previous location in St Stephens Street and also has shops in Castle Quarter and Anglia Square in Norwich.

Shoppers in Norwich will be among the first in the UK to discover a new range of Poundland products, including clothing from Pepco as well as frozen and chilled food.

Poundland retail director Alan Smallman said: “We are delighted to welcome customers to our brand new store in Norwich, which will be one of our largest in the UK. 

“The shoppers who visit our new store will be among the first to enjoy our extensive new range of products, all backed by the promise we make to ensure every pound goes further.”

The store will be open from 8am on Saturday.
