Artist Will Teather is opening a studio in the heart of Norwich.
This venture will take place in a Tudor building in Tombland, along a strip of shops opposite Norwich Cathedral.
Passers-by will be able to see the painter working in the window, with his other works on display in the studio.
Mr Teather said: "I am very excited about opening this studio/gallery.
"My works often draw on European history and particularly the history of our region, so to be able to showcase them in such a historical setting seems very apt.
"There is something very satisfying about finishing a painting and putting it straight on display.
"It means my home city will get to see my latest works first before they go on wider display.
"I love living and working here and hope it builds a closer relationship between my artwork and my home city.
"I have already been exploring the mythology surrounding Tombland as an area, which is proving a rich seam for new ideas."
Visitors are welcome on an ad hoc basis when the artist is present.
Outside of these hours, the studio can be viewed by appointment.

In addition, his studio, 12 Tombland will be open for the next two Saturdays of March from 10.30am to 5pm for visits.
Following on from his childhood years in rural Norfolk where he was surrounded by religious imagery and books on historical paintings, Mr Teather's knowledge of contemporary art was refined through periods of study at Central St Martins and Chelsea College of Art & Design.
Over the last ten years, his work has featured in more than 100 gallery exhibitions internationally, with recent exhibitions including as a guest for Artrooms London, Artwars Miami and as a finalist in the London Contemporary Art Prize.
