A set of traffic lights on a busy city road are set to be replaced in February.

Work on the lights at the toucan crossing on Barrack Street, beside the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Gym, will begin on February 19.

New underground ducting and cabling will also be fitted underground.

The project, which will cost £23,000, is expected to take five days to complete.

A temporary crossing will be in place while the existing signals are being changed.

The change is part of a countywide traffic signal replacement programme which involves updating traffic lights where necessary to ensure they continue to meet current standards.
