Hope remains for new life to be breathed into a city pub which has sat empty for four years.

New for sale signs have appeared on the front of Number 12 in Farmers Avenue, which closed in 2018 after being put up for sale by chain Enterprise Inns.

It was bought in January 2019 by Thurston Estates.

Earlier this year the site - which has planning permission to be turned into a seven-bedroom boutique hotel - had been for sale for £495,000.

However, John Thurston of Thurston Estates explained that the property has been brought back on the market for £375,000 including all plans and drawings for the development.

There has been a pub on the site for 400 years and was originally - and for the majority of its time - known as the Plough.

It was renamed Le Rouen in 1973 to celebrate Norwich's twinning with the French city of the same name which took place in 1959 before changing its name to Number 12 in 2008.
