Twenty-five charities are preparing to come together to promote their services to local people, and tell people how they can support them.

The Charities at Home event will be held at The Forum in Norwich on Saturday, July 12 - the second time it has taken place.

The event was the idea of Sharon Hulbert.

She said: 'There are so many excellent charities in Norfolk that provide services which help improve the lives of local people and, by coming to the Forum, visitors will be able to find out what services are available to them, but also find out about volunteering and fundraising for the charities.

'Thanks to the support of The Forum, Norfolk Community Foundation, Prospect Handling, Flag Wizard, Off the Wall Outdoor, OTW Imaging, Alex Atkinson Photography, Meantime Media and the EDP we have been able to offer the stands at no cost to the charities.

'I am also immensely grateful to Raise Your Profile, joint organiser of Charities at Home who have produced the logo, artwork and website.'

Charities that will be taking part will include:

• Leeway

• Norwich Door to Door

• The Magdalen Group

• Beat

• The Build Charity

• The Benjamin Foundation

• Big C

• Age UK Norwich

• Age UK Norfolk

• The Matthew Project

• Emmaus Norwich

• SERV Norfolk

• Break

• Nansa

• Scotty's Little Soldiers

• YMCA Norfolk

Ronnie Zahdeh, managing director of Raise Your Profile, said: 'A day that provides the opportunity for local charities to engage with local people is a great idea and is precisely along the lines of Raise Your Profile's ethos of doing all we can to help charities.

'Our hope is that it proves useful to both people and charities. We are delighted to be able to offer charities the chance to have a free stand.'
