Fundraisers battling Parkinson’s disease took to the skies to raise £10,000 for charity. The 14 volunteers from Norwich and Wroxham flung themselves from a plane at 13,000 feet at Ellough airfield near Beccles on Saturday. Mark Whitworth, from Thorpe St Andrew, one of three skydivers who has Parkinson’s said: “The dive was absolutely fantastic.

“It was the best feeling I have had. Free falling was phenomenal.

“I can’t explain how I felt – it was absolutely amazing.”

The 41-year-old, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s three years ago, has formed a support group called Parkinson’s Ride for people with the disease. It meets in the Griffin pub on Yarmouth Road, Thorpe St Andrew.

The money from the skydive will be donated to Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
