Drivers have been warned that a section of the B1108 on the outskirts of Norwich will have to be shut for one night later this month.
Resurfacing work on the Watton Road/Earlham Road bridge, close to Earlham Park, means the road will be shut from 8pm on Friday, July 28 until 7am the next day.
In the event of bad weather, the work, which will cost £14,000, will instead be postponed until Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5.
A diversion will be in place for the duration of the closure via the A140, A1074, A47 and B1108 (Norwich outer ringroad, Dereham Road, southern bypass and Watton Road/Earlham Road).
Norfolk County Council, which is carrying out the work, said access to properties, and pedestrian access over the bridge, will be maintained at all times.
But they said, as some bus routes could be affected, people should contact their operator for information on any route changes.
