The perception of being alone when battling with an eating disorder was dispelled at the weekend, as more than 20 people stepped out for a sponsored walk and talk event.
Organised by Norwich-based national eating disorder charity, Beat, the walk saw members of the public, Beat ambassadors and members of staff follow the river through Norwich city centre and through the grounds of the historic cathedral for approximately two miles.
Andera Auburn, the charity's community fundraising officer, said: 'Battling an eating disorder can be an isolating and lonely experience, so it's been wonderful to see so many people talking and combating the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these serious mental illnesses.
'We raised a brilliant £700, which will help change the lives of more people affected by eating disorders. We hope to organise this event annually.'
