Dylan Charles, 22, stabbed the victim in the face and neck with a lock knife.

Charles, of Graham Square, Norwich, was sentenced to two years in prison after he admitted unlawful wounding and possession of an offensive weapon following the incident in Southalls Way, Norwich on July 15 this year.

Norwich Crown Court heard Charles and the victim had known each other for about three years after getting together to sell drugs in the area.

But the two had fallen out following an argument over money which was due from the sale of drugs.

Will Carter, prosecuting, said the pair had 'plainly fallen out' with messages between the two of them showing 'trouble was brewing'.

On July 12 while walking along the street the victim had a bottle thrown at him from a car Charles was in.

Text messages sent to the victim from Charles also suggested he had an interest in underage girls.

Mr Carter said on July 15 the victim, who was armed with a metal bar, went to confront Charles who was staying with his girlfriend.

The victim was spotted by Charles who answered the door with a knife in his hand.

Mr Carter said Charles said he did not want everyone to see so suggested 'let's do this inside'.

The victim refused and retreated while having stones thrown at him my Charles.

The victim, who had tried to ward Charles off with the bar he had, was then stabbed by Charles who ran off.

Jonathan Goodman, for Charles, said his client has always been prepared to plead guilty to a section 20 offence to avoid a trial.

He said he was still a young man who although he has previous convictions only has one other matter of violence recorded against him.
