Emergency services have warned motorists to take care on the roads following widespread frost across Norfolk.

The Met Office issued a second Yellow Warning for snow and ice for the East of England on Sunday.

Areas included Norfolk, Bedford, Cambridgeshire, Central Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Peterborough, Sutton and Luton.

The warning is valid from 6am to 6pm.

Adam Dury, a forecaster with Norwich-based Weatherquest, said temperatures across the region on Sunday morning were -2C to -3C with 'fairly clear skies'.

He said clouds would start moving through from the west later in the day and there was a risk of snow falls in the afternoon.

'However, it will turn to rain and temperatures are expected increase to 7C to 8C tonight and any snow lying on the ground will melt.'

He said Monday would start off misty with the possibility of frost in some areas but daytime temperatures would reach 7C to 8C.

Norfolk Police urged motorists to drive carefully.
