A vote winner......once a week rubbish collections
All over Britain as would be pocket-fillers stand for election, against a backdrop of hate caused by the MP s troughing in the public purse. The would be pocket-fillers realise that gaining support comes at a price. Dumping fortnightly rubbish collections and reverting back to the good old days of once a week collections. Is a vote winner,  people have had enough of flies and smelly gut wrenching stenches omitting from their bins.

Weekly waste collections on agenda
The Tories, who run the county council, said they could change this by paying these district or borough councils to roll out weekly food collections for Leicestershire, after recently agreeing a deal for Harborough residents to have this service. A weekly service for all rubbish will also be considered.

Extra £35/yr on council tax for a wasteful and inefficient weekly rubbish over-service; aint a vote winner. Thats what this loony tune (mad scarmongerin) idea costs you folk in the pocket as council tax payers for an extra hgv compactor vehicle collection round +crew.

That £35/yr reduction did not apply then, when the pocket-filling nulabour chimps at City Hall rolled out 26 collections. Instead of 52 collections of rubbish. No one buys their scams bluebottle, every one has had enough of pocket -filling chimps of all colours, best of all no one believes any of the crap that spouts from pocket-filling chimps local/central mouths.Rubbish/recycling is a scam, along with the other greatest scam man made global warming. Another pocket-filling man made world wide chimp scheme.

Sorry, Dorreta Cock-Up and Chums are  some big chimpy chumps. Sad lonely bin sniffers

Think you've got your Mad figures wrong mad, and wrong with fantisiful weekly wasting collection notions. I agree with you Rubbish is a scam, ;its a producer scam, a scam of lazy slugs producing waste and throw to away over 240l of crap / fortnight...can't be bothered to conserve, recycle or compost stuff. Making me any other pay more. My parents and grandparents didn't chuck out what these slugs do. Ashes yes, food to the pigs yes. Perhaps 1tonne/family; now its up at 2 tonnes+ /family/yr; or 475Kg /head in Norfolk, all with collection, transport and disposal/treatment implication and 30yr PFI subsidized scams/pocket.There is no logical, honest or rationale arguement for another/restored black bin collection..other than led by the misguided OCDs Dorretta. Dorretta Cock-up has only looked at a system that facilitated her myopic habit, to the all around scaled (muliplied by 26+million households nationally) impications/costs/environmental costs of dealing with spiralling billion tonnages of waste locally/regionally/nationally.Doretta's implication are 2x more PFI "out of sight, out of mind"scams. Problem is the borrowing off the books PFI+16% interest rate comes back 5,10,15,30 years. Doretta + mates as truely chumpy chimps who should stick to counting PG tips tea backs.

All you are demanding mad is pocket fillers, namely waste companies (lika Veolia..owners of CityUnCare) put on an extra run, changing extra, extra to the City Council, that costs me and other city residents extra crap collection that costs me and other tax payers firstly £35/yr for that delivery plus Currently £38/tonne of crap to Landfill, or if an incinerator £55+/tonne disposal.

Councils were responsible when they cut 52 weekly services at £35/collection. This is because the 26 recycling collections are revenue neutral or positive, which effectively cuts total waste bills in half. Mad you are saying double waste collection and disposal costs. Also they put all the recyclables in a proper universal 240l bin, rather than a nonsense part coverage 60l green box; and replaced those awful, awful weekly black bags we had to put out weekly at flats (ripped apart overnight by vermin, cats and foxes), before universal roll out of a better more secure 240l wheely bin system, that only a TRex rat world be able to knaw throu.

Nuts boy, not going to happen at the ballet box when voters understand the weekly waster nutters campaign costs more council tax. ie pensioners, folk on benefit or families up the gunnalds with other high bits; all looking for a council tax increase freeze for 1-2 year; not reversion to an added needless service. Lets fix the potholes in the roads first.

Weekly wasting,Ain't going to happen. Fully 9/10 replies to the link you gave in the comments section said " What are they on about, we are happy with fortnightly, don't change it!!!!"

The only chimps are the Dorrett weekly waste bin nutters (can't do KS3 maths to publically prove any saving, because their are none) ; a minority of lazy black bag scammers who want to gift waste company profiteers £35/tonne, rather than look for waste cost efficiency and prudence.

Ain't going to happen!

Biggest pocket filling scam is by the oil/energy companies bribing nutty pocket filling professors into fraudulent fiction ....basically because they haven't the ethics, profits first, no credible science against MMGW reality. Its all blah blah sceptic Wacko Cult like drivel, vitriol and nonsense. Its obvious but sad; fraid like Wacko Mad seems taken in as a true fan of mumbo chimpery! !

An ode for foul smelly bin odour

Wheelie Bin, Maggots n NCC

My wheelie has got maggots
Dont know how they got in
I always knot my bags
Keep me lid down on me bin

It could ave been the bag
The one right at the bottom
Had a chicken carcass in it
After 2 weeks surely rotten!

Now the flies they just keep coming
Circling round me bin
Crawling up the side
Trying to crawl in

I called the man from NCC
To see wot he could do
He said that there was nothing
And the bin would be emptied when it was due

Well I got quite annoyed at this
And ranted down the phone
I said next time I have maggots mate
You can give em a home

He said there is no need to be rude
I said oh yes there is
My wheelie bins got maggots mate
And your refuse collection service is ***

I said come and empty me wheelie
And all will be forgiven
He said sir I cannot do that
So I guess I’m maggot ridden

Bloody council innit! tickedoff

It is quite possible for a complete new generation of flies if you leave the bin for 14 days.

http://www.vtaide.com/png/housefly.htm

or less if conditions are good, 11 days is perfectly possible.

Under the old system, the MAGGOTS would be taken away.
Under the new system the FLIES don't get taken away.

Seems a pretty important difference to me.

MAGGOTS don't breed, FLIES do breed.
MAGGOTS don't spread disease, FLIES do.

Sounds like the paranoia rantings of the Rime of the Ancient MadMaggot. Maggots form in less than 7 days, 3-5 days, so its irrelevant whether 7 or14 days collection. The key is

1) Separate collection of food scraps

2) Lid down on bins so flies don't get access to rubbish

Remember that maggots and smells are worse in bins that are washed out , in the drippings, and this is 5 mins after bins are collected, so whether 7 or 14 days collection is irrelevant.

Re: A vote winner......once a week rubbish collections

"no reduction in council tax for a reduced service from 52 to 26".

This is a ignorant and misleading quote..you fail to mention that CityUncare/Veolia in the deatails of the pre 2004 10 yr Contract, the variation negociated and allowed by Veolia was for new 26x 240l Blue Bin collections. The ignorance is that the City council could not get money back on the CityCare contract without penalty clauses /variations kicking in. This is the honest cost truth that you aren't aware of!

For most the recycling change (democratically voted for by all 40 councillors; madmaggot ain't going to change future changes until 2014 when the contracts up) is the greatest vote winner and additional service for resident, at zero extra collection costs. This has enabled vastly more bin capacity to raise recycling (cost neutral) rates from poor 15% up to 40%. The is rubbish tonnage that doesn't have to be be buried or burnt in the first place; because its raw material resource with revenue
(closed loop); not rubbish to "away" (end of pipe)

Lets not forget the great public voice of Norwich, was totally ignored by the pocket -filling councilors (Chimps). Spineless chimps being held to ransom by private company bidding to run a service..............Smells like corruption and funny shakes, but they are politicians and that's the norm . Time for a change and vote them out!!!!!!!

We can vote them out, and in with the English Democrats; but this isn't going to buy out of the Veolia/CityUnCare contract to bring back weekly rubbish wasting collections. This will cost serious cash for the Norwich tax payer prior to 2014, period, as I've explained, provided wholesale figures.

bluebottle 2010 Citycare conract ends, my old mukka.........Not 2014......Vote the buggers out!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.norwich.gov.uk/webapps/news/news.asp?cid=5494
The contracts have to be put out to tender in accordance with European Competition rules. It is up to contractors, including the current operators at CityCare, to decide whether they wish to bid for some or all of the contracts the council is re-letting.
But in 2010 the city council’s current arrangement with its main contractor CityCare, will come to an end. As part of the re-letting of these services, the council is required to put the contracts out to tender and has been seeking the views of its residents to assess how it can best shape and deliver those services in the future.

The funny hand shake ,devil worshipers,pocket-fillers can get the hell out of NORWICH!!!!!!!!!

This is of some temporal consolequense madsweatbox, but doesn't change the fact a weekly rubbish collection alongside existing revenue neutral recycling is going to add to my council and others councilbill (totally unacceptable in the next few years); unless a second contractor can come in by competitively slashing bin collections by 50% (half); unlikely..and poses the question about a resultant increased shoddy low quality bin service. Thing is you can vote councillors out, but not the officers who develop these waste strategies and contracts.

Absolutely, strategies aren't developed by politicans; its specialists called local government officers. They are too alluth to do handshaking..all gets reccommended in pre meetings....officer advice to recommend blah blah..do nothing option...blah blah...Only a few authorities allow the public /groups in to influence policy. In Norwich the Waste Working Party is a closed door group of officers and a select group of councillors..Ramsay, Morrey, Lubbock..Little..and a few others..nod wink.

Re: A vote winner......once a week rubbish collections
I do wonder what on earth people, even in this neighbourhood, find to put in their bins each time.    I have the smaller wheelie bins for this area and still find my fortnight's rubbish is lost at the bottom of the bin when I put it in just before collection.

What is all this about flies etc?    I don't have any.    If I have meat bones etc. left over from a meal and it is a while before bin day I store them in the fridge until the evening before collection then put them in with the other rubbish.    Vegetable peelings and fruit peelings/cores go in the compost bin.    Egg shells are crushed and put around plants to deter slugs and snails.
