The count continues
G'Day.
Our weatherman has reported a rainfall total of 0.4 mm since the start of the year, our average up to this time is around 75 mm. With fires still on 4 fronts at the moment we are praying for rain.
Our forensic officers are now combing the burned rubble a second time and still finding human remains, the body count up too this date now stands at 211 and still climbing. Yesterday there was a memorial, to grieve the "Black Saturday" fire victims and Princess Anne flew here to represent the queen, at the service.Today she will be taken to the fire ravished area close too us to witness the devistation so many are now at this moment suffering. Our flags are still at half mast and the community still mourns the terrible events that we are still living through.
We still have not heard from the office in Whittlesea, which we approached to offer shelter to any victims that need shelter. As Linda is away at present we spoke together and decided to offer accomodation for one or two of the victims, we can offer a bedroom for the cause. We still have the tent cities in the areas but most are reluctant to leave the areas close to their properties.
The vegitation here thrive on bush fire and in a few years the soil and plantlife will return in a splender greater than seen befor the fires, but at present the areas look as though a nuclear bomb has ravished the landscape.
Robert and the boys.
