Beccles
After my day of rest yesterday ........ which was very much needed, I've had a day out at Beccles today. I haven't been there for years. I had lunch in a lovely eat-in fish and chip shop, but I had lasagna with my chips. ;o) It was very tasty and very filling, I won't be eating any tea tonight. There are some lovely shops in Beccles, very oldie world. I bought a book at a second hand book shop. I was quite surprised at the prices. I saw a book in the window, The Discovery Of The Titanic, hard backed, new condition. I went in and asked the man how much it was, adding that it was possibly quite expensive. £4, needless to say, at that price I bought it. It does not look as if it has been read, if so it was by one very careful reader. I even found a Needlepoint shop, which are very hard to find in Norwich these days. The lady was very helpful, as I have not attempted to do a tapestry for over 20 years she recommended a small one to start off with, and maybe move on to a larger one next time. I have a Kingfisher to sew in longstitch. That should keep me out of trouble for a while.
Back at work tomorrow, but I do have a day off next Tuesday to go with my son when he does his parachute jump, although my feet will stay firmly on the ground. My son said, as the time gets nearer he is getting a little bit scared. How does he think I feel, you bring children into the world, they grow up and then jump out of planes. I'm sure he will be fine, I've told him to enjoy the moment. He may never get the opportunity to do it again. I wish I had the chance when I was his age. I would have to get through a medical if I wanted to do it now. ;o)
I've booked a hotel for July 2010, they were going like hot cakes.
