The Island is very quiet right now, just the odd visitor at the week end that comes over for the day. Harnser is out of the water ready for its annual clean and paint job. This is always the best time to get the boats up, as the Lobsters and Crabs are reluctant to move when the weather gets cold. And today it is very cold, a strong North wind, straight from the Arctic, it does not go round you but straight through, as you folk in Norfolk will find out in the next day or so, well that’s what the forecast is given. The weather we are getting now should move south. Just hope there is no snow as Norwich usually comes to a halt if you get snow.

Back to the Island, now that I’m not at sea each morning before collecting the mails and newspaper from the shop I go down to the shore where the boat is and walk round the shore line.  The peace and quiet of the place is something I never get tired of, just standing for a while and listening, well to nothing, but the sea and the birds. I wish you could share this with me.

Big snow yesterday here in Norwich - well about 2-3", but as usual many roads were not gritted, especially it seems many of the roads leading INTO Norwich according to the local TV news this morning. Presumably the roads leading OUT of Norwich were OK!! The usual idiots were driving around not knowing how to cope with the snow, especially the ones with just a little patch of windsceen cleared and the rest of the car windows obscured.

I know what you mean about the peace and quiet. Having moved back to Norwich from London and living in a nice quiet Close, its so different not having the constant background noise of London, especially at night.
