lets try again
Seem to be haveing trouble getting through but will keep on trying. Well the weather cooler now, Linda must have brought the cooler weather home with her from Norwich.
Schools started back, after the summer holidays last week, the school year here being February to December. Chris will start another year of hockey next week, gives me a chance to go to the rink and watch him, Lindas not too interested thinks its too agressive but I keep telling her its a non contact sport, well thats what the rule book says. The grass don't seem to want to grow but that saves me from having to cut it. Still seeing plenty of roos close to the outer suburbs here in Melbourne and that is a sign that theres not much water, in the bush. They can be a bit worrying, when they are close to the road, you never know what way they intend to hop. Now Wombats theres an animal you definately don't want to hit with your car, built like a tank, absolutely solid, hit one of those and the cars a right off and they will get up and walk away.
Although Victoria is approximately the same size as England our population is very small, just over 5,000,000, the majority of this population living in and around Melbourne. When we first arrived here with the boys we used to spend nearly every weekend driving and exploring the bush. Out to the west of the state are the gold fields, in the early years of settlement there was a lot of gold found in the diggings and still today we hear of the occasional large nugget being found. To the south on the coast we would go and watch the penguins come ashore in the evenings, after being out to sea all day feeding, returning to their nesting sites. Winter evenings were good used to spend time at the drive in with the boys watching a movie, not many of them around now, nearly all normal cinemas in the shopping complexes but we can all reminisce.
All for now, chat later.
Robert, Linda and the boys.
