The Prince of Wales has given his royal seal of approval to the English department at East Norfolk Sixth Form College in Gorleston by awarding it a top educational accolade.
The college is the educational establishment in Norfolk to have received the Prince's Teaching Institute's inaugural Schools Programme Mark.
The Schools Programme recognises and rewards the development of inspirational ideas and activities that enhance the teaching of English, history and science.
College principal Laurie Poulson, who attended Monday's award ceremony at Clarence House, said: “We have a large English department with sixteen teachers engaged in teaching GCSE and A-level English language and literature.
“They are all passionate about their subject and that passion rubs off on their students.
“The Prince's Teaching Institute believes that young people's opportunities in life are maximised by having inspiring teachers who are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject.”
In total 51 schools received a Schools Programme Mark.
