Proud grandparent Oscar Klass thanked the people of Norfolk for their kind wishes and support after his daughter Myleene gave birth to a baby girl yesterday .

Gorleston pop star turned television presenter Myleene Klass gave birth three-and-a-half weeks early to 5lbs 9oz Ava Quinn in a London hospital at 1.45pm with her fiancé Graham Quinn by her side.

Oscar Klass told the Evening News: “Myleene's doing fine. We have just seen the baby. She has lovely Chinese eyes but the rest of her looks more like her dad than Myleene.

“Ava's a lovely little name for a girl. We are so happy for Myleene. Myleene wishes to thank all the people in Norwich and Norfolk for their best wishes and support.”

A spokesman for the 29-year-old said: “Myleene had a problem-free labour, and mother and baby are doing well. She and Graham are ecstatic. The baby is named Ava Quinn.”

The M&S model went into labour on Wednesday night shortly after co-presenting BBC1's The One Show.

Her spokesman said: “Myleene presented The One Show and felt a bit weird on the way home. She went to the hospital to get checked out and they told her she was in labour.

“The birth went very smoothly and all is well, but her stint on the show is obviously over.”
