Play-off place a realistic aim for City
Norwich City couldn't have chosen a worse season in which to lose the plot. West Bromwich Albion's title-clinching 81-point haul was the lowest winning total since the three-point system was introduced in 1981.

Wholesale changes needed to make impact
Neil Doncaster has said that “major surgery” will be needed at Carrow Road this summer. The question is, 'Who deserves to survive Roeder's cull?' Just as he did when he began to unpick the unholy mess left behind by Peter Grant, let's start at the back and work forward.

City were woeful... and so was the ref
Two defeats, both by the same scoreline - and that's not all they had in common. To be fair, we at least turned up against West Bromwich Albion, something we had neglected to do at Portman Road.

Will knees be knocking all way to Hillsborough?
Missed opportunities would neatly sum up Ipswich's second-half performance, but for us it would do for the whole season. Stay up and it will be “job done” and if we were all transported back in time to Monday, October 8, we'd have happily settled for that.

Our fans deserve to see Tractor Boys scuppered
It has as much chance of becoming a city as Mohamed Al Fayed has of being granted a British passport. But will Ipswich Town secure Premier League status this season through a rare triumph in the play-offs? Norwich City can not only clinch survival with a result at Portman Road on Sunday but help to ensure that the world in general is spared the sight of Bluey the Horse galloping around the Wembley perimeter.

Promotion race still has big implications for City
The updated bottom half of the Championship appeared on the screen during Sky's Gillette Soccer Saturday, reminding viewers just how many sides could yet be sucked into the bottom three.

Jamie deserved pat on the back
Poor old Jamie Cureton. If he walked into the dressing room with the moon on a stick, the stick would be too short and the moon too bright. Chastised by the “gaffer” for missing a sitter amid the dying embers of the Stoke game, he looked like the cat that got the cream after bagging a hat-trick to seal the most vital of victories for City.

Camara hokey-cokey bit of a mystery
Anyone who had recently circled on their calendars the trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, May 4, must have done so thinking that by then, the pressure would be off.

Money has to be made available over summer
So, there is a debate raging about whether or not some fans should be criticising the manager and how we should be viewing recent results. Heck, that's an easy one, so let's get that out of the way first.

City must be more than a posse of hired hands
Loan signings have been the rock on which the Roeder Revolution has been built. From physical presence and dependability at the back to bulldog spirit and flair in the middle, hired hands have had a lasting impression, however temporary their status.

Under Roeder’s guiding hand, we can make it
Prior to Glenn Roeder's arrival, the one thing you feared in the immediate aftermath of a horror show was another. In fact, the more that either the manager or players vowed to bounce straight back, the more you feared for the worst in the next game.

Walkers experience left bad taste in the mouth
They were intimidated, started to panic and then went to pieces at the Walkers Stadium. Yes, the police and stewards at Leicester City put on an unforgettable display last Saturday afternoon, so bungling it almost eclipsed that of one of the teams on the pitch.

No hiding place for the City under-achievers
Glenn Roeder is a man on a mission and few would want to cross his path. As he strode purposely through the arrivals hall at Norwich Airport at tea-time on Saturday, his stern expression gave no hint of the stunning victory which had transported delirious City fans to cloud nine.
