Second-half surrender by Canaries
City boss Glenn Roeder made a point earlier in the week that he had a duty to the teams still involved in a relegation battle to pick his strongest side and for the players that were selected to produce a spirited performance.

No signs of pressure as City romp it
You discover quite a bit about players when they play under pressure.
Some can handle it. They see it as a challenge to demonstrate exactly what they are made of.

Canaries are outplayed in derby battle
Absolutely no complaints at the outcome of yesterday's local derby - the only saving grace being that City didn't suffer a much heavier defeat.
After impressive displays in their previous three outings, City should have approached the game in buoyant mood, quietly confident that they could as good as put an end to the Tractor Boys' play-off hopes while guaranteeing their own Championship status.

City almost safe after a stylish win
It's not quite the time for the Canaries to be cracking open the champagne and toasting an accomplished mission just yet, but after Saturday's 2-0 win over Burnley it's fairly certain Glenn Roeder can now turn his thoughts to assembling a squad for Championship football again next season.

Such rough justice for stylish City
The general opinion of Bristol City this season has been of a hard-working and well-organised outfit without any real stars in the team.

Lowest goal tally is City’s big concern
There can be no complaints about the result at Bramall Lane on Saturday, but after four defeats in five matches, suddenly the Canaries find themselves back in the mire.

City in need of two wins
Defeats, poor from and off-days are part and parcel of football. It's how you respond to a particular setback that's important.

City’s failing is a lack of consistency
Irrespective of the two red cards, the 1-0 defeat or the fact that the play-offs have now disappeared over the horizon, the most disappointing aspect of the game at Coventry on Saturday was that after demonstrating precisely the type of attitude and conviction required to earn results at this level in the second half at Watford on Tuesday night, the Canaries produced nothing of the sort at the Ricoh Arena.

City courage earns them a vital point
As we saw when they visited Carrow Road in early November, Watford are a physically strong outfit who like to get the ball forward at every opportunity - and nothing has changed in the last four months.

Energy is in short supply for Canaries
It is ironic that in a week when a tremor ripped thorough the city, there were also one or two aftershocks felt at Carrow Road on Saturday after the Canaries were surprisingly beaten on their own patch.

City respond in right way to big defeat
City boss Glenn Roeder revealed one or two interesting things before the game on Saturday.
Naturally his inclusion of a certain Darren Huckerby in the team again grabbed most of the attention, but of infinitely more importance was him giving an insight into the way everyone had dealt with the thumping the team received at Leicester in their previous game.

City second best in each department
I suppose it had to come to an end some time - I just don't think anyone would have envisaged it happening in such emphatic fashion.
The terrific 13-game unbeaten run terminated, Darel Russell receiving a straight red card, Mark Fotheringham and Dion Dublin both collecting their fifth bookings of the season and resulting one-match bans, and a 4-0 thumping.

Draw will disappoint some fans
I think that it's safe to say that it is a fair indication of just how far the Canaries have come in the past three months or so that a fair few supporters would have returned home from Carrow Road a touch disappointed that City only managed a draw from the game last night.
