On this day in Norwich of 1881 the mustard was too hot to handle.
Hundreds of people gathered to watch as a landmark industrial building was burning - it was reported that the glow could be seen as far away as Ely.

Heroes who risked their lives to save famous city landmark
The dust was still rising from the rubble in Norwich on this day of 66 years ago. Large parts of the city had been destroyed, more than 200 men, women and children had been killed and hundreds more had no homes.

Today it is Marks & Spencer and is packed with shoppers but there was a time when it was packed with freedom fighters and was their second home.
It was 60 years ago this coming December that the NAAFI Club - the Navy, Army & Air Force Institutes - closed its doors for the last time.
