Woodbastwick: Fur & Feather Inn
One thing you are guaranteed of in this hugely popular Broads pub is an excellent pint. As its right next door to the Woodforde's brewery, you'd hardly expect anything different. For regulars the food almost matches it though.

Norwich: Fatso's
If you like your meals big with fries on the side this is an absolute must. Burgers, Mexican, steak, large portions and lots of fried things covered in breadcrumbs is the order of the day here.

Norwich: Unthank Arms
I'll have to admit it The Unthank Arms, you had me at hello.
Even before I made the pleasingly short walk from my house to the top of Newmarket Street in the Golden Triangle I knew it was a mere formality that a few hours later I would be returning home with belly full and smile fulsome.

Attleborough: Mulberry Tree
I don't ask for much when the company's good - a nicely appointed table, a meal where quality is put before quantity, a bottle of something which is not designed to strip wallpaper and service, at the bare minimum, with a smile. The Mulberry Tree in Attleborough seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

Norwich: Elm Hill Brasserie
It's tiny in size - but big on welcome and huge on food.
The Elm Hill Brasserie sits right at the top of the famous cobbled lane, and pretty near the top of any league tables of eating out in Norwich.

Norwich: Holiday Inn
It's a rather incongruous sight, wedged into the corner of Carrow Road, rooms overlooking the pitch, but this hotel, which opened last June, has been welcomed by tourists chiefs keen to woo more visitors to the city.

Norwich: Figaro
I sat in a pizza restaurant in York at the weekend and realised that everything was incredibly familiar - the food, the tables and chairs, the artwork, the music and even the staff looked exactly the same as they do in Norwich.

Wymondham: Shapla Tandoori
This Indian restaurant is a far cry from flocked wallpaper and slightly intrusive music. I really liked the light, airy interior with clean lemon walls and intimate cosy tables.

Norwich: Wig and Pen
As the name suggests this old 17th century inn is a popular lunchtime haunt for legal types escaping the confines of Norwich's courts just across the road.

Thornham: The Orange Tree
The Orange Tree was obviously once the village local. It still retains the friendly atmosphere and cosy, welcoming feel of a pub - but with a hearty style-infused marinade of added posh.

South Walsham: The King's Arms Canton
There's something slightly incongruous about walking into what looks like a traditional village pub in a traditional Norfolk village only to find yourself transported to the Far East.

Wymondham: The Green Dragon
If I visit this 15th century inn again I'm definitely going to sup real ale and wear some kind of historic costume. This is such a beautiful building, once connected to Wymondham Abbey and it most definitely hasn't lost its sense of history.

Norwich: Le Bistro
Welcome to the food that time forgot. This Norwich institution, which has overlooked the market from its lofty position on the corner of Exchange Street for longer than I've been having hot dinners, is like passing through a culinary time warp, back to a place where its forever 1973.

Great Witchingham: Maxims
I've come a cropper with the address for this café before, so this time I was determined not to make any schoolgirl errors. With Google maps at the ready, I was baffled to see that despite the café being in Lenwade, the address is Great Witchingham.

Tivetshall St Mary: The Old Ram
There are so many decent places to eat in Norwich that I almost packed my passport in preparation for travelling to a restaurant down the A140, so unfamiliar am I with driving any distance for a meal.

Norwich: Slug & Lettuce
The Slug and Lettuce is one of those city bars that has caters for the shoppers' break during the day and turns into pre-club mania at night.
Not having eaten in there before, I thought it was worth a visit on a Saturday and I was surprised that the food exceeded expectations.

Aylsham: Black Boys Hotel
The imposing Black Boys Hotel has been looming over Aylsham market square for as long as anyone can remember, going back generations.
The Grade II listed building itself can be dated back in one form or another to 1471.

Norwich: Torero's
If you want to feel like you're in the heart of Spain but not leave the Norfolk capital then this is the place to go. I was surprised by how authentic this restaurant on the edge of the city centre was.
