The restaurant quarter at Castle Mall has been given a fresh lick of paint thanks to a community art project.
The walkway from the top of the newly-opened Timberhill Terrace area of the mall down to the shopping centre has been redecorated by the Norwich Get Walls project and children from 38th Norwich Brownies, Bluebell Primary School, Mile Cross Primary School, Kinsale Junior School.
The artwork is designed to celebrate the city of Norwich and all it has to offer, with a canary and Norwich Castle among numerous icons to feature on the redecorated walkway.
Julie Wicklund, teacher and art co-ordinator at Bluebell Primary School, said the pupils enjoyed the experience.
She said: 'The children were all very excited when we told them about this project.
'A total of 20 art club students, from years four, five and six, planned their paintings in advance, ensuring that the most iconic Norwich landmarks featured.
'The children were thrilled to hear feedback from passers-by during their painting sessions, and one of our pupils even declared it was the best day of his life. We'd like to thank Castle Mall for this unique opportunity.'
Robert Bradley, centre manager at Castle Mall, said he was happy to support the community and is pleased with the end result.
He said: 'In everything we do at Castle Mall shopping centre, we want to support and work with our local community.
'We are really pleased with the art pieces that the participating parties have created. We hope the public enjoy the new route and we are pleased to have already received some wonderful comments.'
Cocina Mexican restaurant is the latest addition to the newly-opened Timberhill Terrace restaurant quarter, which is designed to complement the pre-existing food court by offering additional contemporary and casual food outlets.
Mr Bradley said: 'We see Timberhill as a place for everyone. It's a place where people can enjoy good, affordable food in a pleasant atmosphere.
'It's well-located, close to shops, attractions and of course the cinema. This is a great opportunity for cafe and restaurant operators looking to start up or expand.'
