The hospital's West Atrium became the stage for musicians from Britten Sinfonia on Thursday when they performed a musical retelling of the classic tale. About 50 people gathered to watch the 45 minute show which was an adaptation of the Britten Sinfonia's performances at Norwich Playhouse last Saturday as part of Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

Sarah Rennnix, creative learning director at Britten Sinfonia, said: 'It was a unique and rewarding experience for Britten Sinfonia to perform the Alice Through the Looking Glass interactive concert at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

'We played for patients young and old, nurses, carers and staff to brighten up their afternoon and gets their toes tapping.

'Beyond the element of entertainment, an elderly patient approached us at the end saying 'this is the best therapy you can get.'

The uplifting classical music and interactive performance was a very welcome addition to the West Atrium and lifted the spirits of our patients and staff.'
