Norfolk MPs are demanding assessments made by the government on the impact of Brexit to the East of England are made public.

The secret report – leaked to website BuzzFeed – predicts leaving the European Union will adversely hit the whole of the Uk but as yet the breakdowns for each region remain unpublished.

Now North Norfolk Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb and his Norwich South Labour counterpart Clive Lewis have insisted the analysis for the East is released.

Mr Lamb said: 'People in the East of England have a right to know what the government's own assessment is of the impact of the different potential outcomes of the negotiations on our region and on jobs.

'Keeping this secret would be completely unacceptable.'

He added that he would be writing to Brexit secretary David Davis immediately to push for the report to be disclosed in full.

Mr Lewis also confirmed he would be 'demanding' the release of the papers.

Pressure is continuing to grow on Theresa May to publish the analysis after as she prepared to fly out on a three-day trade mission to China. Opposition MPs in the House of Commons said the public were entitled to know the true cost of leaving the EU.

But government sources played down the leak, saying the document was an 'early draft' and that 'significantly more work' was needed before the analysis was complete.
