A man was taken to hospital following a two-car crash which disrupted the city's outer ring road for more than two hours.

Police were called to Boundary Road on Tuesday at 8.18pm, with three fire crews and an ambulance also in attendance.

Fire crews from Sprowston, Earlham and Carrow released the man from his vehicle.

An ambulance and one ambulance officer vehicle were also called to the scene.

He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further assessment and care.

The incident was cleared at 10.40pm.
