The opening date for a new Afro-Caribbean supermarket in a city estate has been announced.

FoodByCpC, which has been in Anglia Square since 2021, will open its 290-304 Aylsham Road shop on Friday, May 3.

The business sells food "at affordable prices" with products from countries including Ghana, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and the Ivory Coast.

"Though you may be far from your country or region of origin, we know that FoodByCpC will bring you closer to the motherland."

The new Mile Cross supermarket will be open 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

Several kilograms of meat were seized from the FoodByCpC store in Anglia Square by environmental health officers earlier this year due to concerns over food safety.

The meat was found to be mislabeled and later destroyed.
